What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They let the website remember information about your visit — such as your login session — between pages and between visits. Local storage is a similar browser technology for remembering small pieces of information; it is never sent to our servers automatically.

Exactly what we store

This is the complete list of what LearnZo places in your browser:

Anonymous, cookie-less usage counts

On the homepage and the signup page, LearnZo counts how many times each page was viewed, so we can see roughly how many visitors make it from the homepage to the signup page and from there to a finished signup. Each pageview simply increases a daily total for that page — nothing is written to your browser to do this (no cookie, no local storage, no fingerprinting), no identifier is generated for you or your device, and nothing about individual visits or visitors is ever recorded or stored. We only ever see totals like “480 homepage views, 62 signup page views today” — never anything tied to a particular person or session.

Because nothing is stored on your device, there is nothing here to consent to under cookie law — which is also why it is not in the table above.

What we do not use

LearnZo does not use advertising cookies, social media pixels, fingerprinting, or any third-party analytics or tracking technology. The only usage measurement we do at all is the anonymous, cookie-less pageview counting described above. If that ever changes — for example if we introduce analytics that use cookies — we will update this policy first and ask for your consent before placing any non-essential cookie.

Third-party cookies

When you purchase a Pro period, payment is handled by Stripe. During checkout, Stripe sets its own cookies for security and fraud prevention. These are governed by Stripe's privacy policy. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, those providers handle the sign-in on their own pages under their own policies. No other third party sets cookies through LearnZo.

Managing cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Be aware that deleting or blocking the authentication cookie will sign you out and prevent you from signing in, since it is required for the platform to function. Clearing local storage simply means we will show you the cookie notice and forum rules again.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time — for example if we add a new feature that needs to remember something in your browser. Changes are reflected by updating the date at the top of this page, and anything non-essential will always be opt-in.
